QHSES LEADERSHIP ACADEMY CONVOCATES 274 STUDENTS

The QHSES Leadership Academy, held its convocation ceremony on Saturday 26th August, 2023, at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja Lagos. The Academy during its convocation, graduated 274 students from its safety and sustainability training.

QHSES which derives its name from Quality, Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability, is a tuition-free academy driven by passion for humanity and envisioned to develop sustainable leaders who strive  to have positive and lasting impacts on people, organizations and society through professional excellence, integrity and spirit of service.

The ISO 9001 certified academy was founded in 2021 graduated 1st set of students in 2022. ISO 9001 is the most widely recognized Quality Management Systems standard in the world.

According to  Engr. Jamiu Badmos a.k.a Jagaban of safety – the convener and executive director of the safety training Academy – said the school is dedicated to developing strong leaders who will have a lasting influence on the nation and nurture excellence through quality, health, safety,  environment and sustainability.

Badmos, implored the Nigerian government to look into occupational safety and health act in Nigeria by reviewing everything about labour while adding that, health and safety act will promote the policy that will make our country a better state.

“The graduating students have been impacted and it does not stop there, they should join the alumi, in order to help everybody in the world through school safety, and corporate safety while also adding value to the world,” he said.

He however, urged everyone to join the movement in order to change the world by contributing their quota in the society while thanking  the Lagos State Government, Facilitators/lecturers, all the professional bodies/Associations for their passionate leadership in making the prestigious institution a reality.

While delivering the convocation lecture, Dr. Olumuyiwa Oludayo, consultant Nathan Leadgate LLV, told the graduates to seek to be Value Added People (VAP), by looking for what they can give back to the society.

Dr. Muyiwa, commended the conveners for the certification he has been able to achieve in a short time as he described the vision as a compelling one that gives opportunity to become real professionals. He said, “I like all the certification and validations they have got from international organizations and partners.”

“The drivers of these projects and the visions already showcased how great the future is for safety professionals and I’m hoping that they will be able to sustain it.”

“I would want everyone who is mindful of being safe, everyone who has a responsibility of making room for the other people to be in a better place, everyone who has a vision of making the world a better and safer place to be a part of these movement.”

The best graduating and also the visually impaired students were also awarded during the event that was witnessed by top professionals in the safety industry.

The top graduating students include, Ogundiran Azeez, Gbadamosi Babafemi, Dada Onikeku Kafilat, Omolara Daniel, Folake Soatan.

However, the overall best graduating student for 2023 QHSES academic year, Azeez Ogundiran, told Hotjist.com that with what he has learnt during the training, he would be making a difference in sustaining and influencing the society positively.

“I have learnt a lot about the sustainability space while in this Academy. Right now, I have an opportunity to actually apply those learnings and make a difference, by attributing to the organization and make sure that they understand what sustainability is, how it can impact their bottom line, and how it can influence it positively in the society.”
