The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Maiduguri Zonal Command, on Monday, secured the conviction and sentencing of one Sadiq Mustapha to one year imprisonment over a land fraud charge.

Mustapha was convicted of cheating one Yawudi Zarma out of N3.9 million after he (Zarma) paid the money for the purchase of a plot of land Mustapha claimed he owned.

The land is located in the Pompomari Industrial Layout in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.

According to the report, Mustapha neither delivered the land nor returned the buyer’s money.
