SORT MOVEMENT CALLS FOR PROTECTION OF THE FIRST LADY, OLUREMI TINUBU OVER THREAT BY CLERIC LEADER

Members of the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Movement (SORT) have called for an absolute protection of the First Lady of Nigeria, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu CON, OON following a threat statement by an Islamic Cleric identified as Mallam Idris Tenshi.

According to the group, the cleric wrongly asserted in his sermon that the first lady should be killed while describing her as an infidel and a leader of unbelievers.

The group wrote, “The entire member of SORT Movement is using this medium to demand for absolute protection of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; Sen. Oluremi Tinubu CON, OON, following the recent threat statement from an Islamic Cleric in the person of Mallam Idris Tenshi.”

“It was gathered that the cleric addressed the First Lady as an infidel and a leader of unbelievers. The cleric was also reported to have wrongly asserted in his sermon that the First Lady; Sen. Oluremi Tinubu CON, OON be killed according to a scripture as an unbeliever.”

“In a democratic setting, these statements are threat to National Unity and Progress especially from Religion stand point. Our group and so many peaceful Nigerians are of great concern of this kind of statement and we are demanding the immediate intervention of the Leadership of National Security and that of National Religious Affairs to investigate this matter and take appropriate measures towards the sustenance of National Unity.”

“SORT Movement is a sociopolitical group that has been in existence over a decade. The movement is a voluntary organisation that has continuously embark on different societal impactful activities. The group cut across many States of the Federation including the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.”

“The First Lady is a mother figure, a National and Continental icon. Her leadership style is exemplary to may political gladiators especially the Female Politician. She is a woman of virtue that has indiscriminately impacted several grassroot dwellers.”
