
UPDATE: LAGOS TASK FORCE DEPLOYS POLICE OFFICERS AFTER HOODLUMS ATTACK BRT BUS, ROB PASSENGERS
A bus from the Lagos State-regulated Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, with the identification number 240216, was attacked by suspected hoodlums while traveling from Mile 2 Terminal to Lagos Island.
The incident, which took place in broad daylight around Alaba Suru, involved the bus’s occupants being robbed of their belongings.
A video of the attack, which began circulating on Thursday, showed the bus’s windows shattered by the assailants.
In response, Jubril Gawat, the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Lagos State Governor, announced that the Lagos State Task Force, led by CSP Tayo Akerele, has deployed security officers along BRT routes, starting with the Alaba Suru area where the attack occurred.
