LAGOS POLICE DETAIN TWO SUSPECTS OVER ROBBERY OF COMMERCIAL SEX WORKERS
The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended two individuals in connection with the robbery of three commercial sex workers.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Command’s spokesperson, confirmed the arrests on Saturday. According to Hundeyin, the victims reported the robbery to the police early Wednesday morning at around 2:20 a.m.
The incident occurred on August 23 at approximately 4:30 a.m., when the victims were allegedly robbed by the suspects after being picked up from Adeniran Ogunsanya Street, Bode Thomas, Surulere.
The victims reported that the suspects, who had initially offered them a ride, diverted to another location where they demanded their valuables.
Items stolen included two iPhones worth N1.05 million, a REDMI Note 12 valued at N140,000, and an iPhone SR priced at N240,000. Additionally, the suspects coerced the victims into transferring ₦25,000 and ₦8,000 to an Opay account.
During the investigation, the suspects admitted to the crime. Authorities also recovered their operational vehicle, a Toyota Camry with registration number APP335 JA, along with two blank number plates used for their activities. One of the stolen phones, a REDMI Note 12, was also retrieved. The investigation is still ongoing.
