Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil has officially secured a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup following a hard-fought 1–0 win over Paraguay in São Paulo on Tuesday night.

The match marked Carlo Ancelotti’s first win as Brazil’s head coach, having taken charge of the team after their goalless draw against Ecuador last Thursday.

Real Madrid forward, Vinícius Júnior proved to be the difference on the night, netting the only goal of the game in the second half to secure the crucial three points.

The victory takes Brazil to 25 points, guaranteeing them one of CONMEBOL’s six automatic qualification slots, with just two rounds of matches left.

This result continues Brazil’s flawless record of qualifying for every edition of the FIFA World Cup since the tournament began in 1930.

Defending champions Argentina and Ecuador are the only other South American teams that have so far secured their places at the 2026 edition, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The Selecao will look to build on this momentum as they prepare for the tournament, with fans hopeful that Ancelotti’s leadership can guide the five-time world champions to glory once again.
