TWO AIDES OF EMBATTLED AHOADA EAST ADMINISTRATOR TURN THEMSELVES IN TO RIVERS POLICE

The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed that two key aides to the embattled Sole Administrator of Ahoada East Local Government Area, Goodluck Iheanachor, have voluntarily turned themselves in after being declared wanted in connection with a violent incident at the council secretariat.
In a statement released by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the two individuals Hector Ekakita, Chief Security Officer of the LGA, and Aloni Olodi, Chief of Staff presented themselves at the Rivers State Police Headquarters on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2025.
They had been declared wanted on July 6, 2025, over allegations of criminal conspiracy, assault occasioning harm, and theft, relating to the June 20 incident in which the LG Sole Administrator was reportedly attacked by a group of about 30 individuals at the council premises.
The statement noted that the two aides were received by the Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, alongside members of the police management team. Following preliminary interviews, they were transferred to the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) for further interrogation and investigation.
The Rivers State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a thorough and transparent investigation into the matter, emphasizing that all individuals involved would be held accountable in accordance with the law.
The Commissioner of Police also appealed to members of the public to come forward with useful information that could assist the ongoing investigation.
“We remain steadfast in upholding law and order and ensuring that justice is served without fear or favour,” the statement concluded.
