FC Barcelona have signed Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford on loan with buyout clause, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Romano confirmed this in a post via X on Saturday, adding that verbal agreement in principle has been reached between all parties.

According to him, Barcelona is now preparing for the player’s medical tests in the coming days, signaling the final stages of the move.

Romano said: “Rashford joins Barcelona, here we go!

“All parties involved have reached a verbal agreement, and Barcelona will arrange a medical examination in the next few days.

“The loan comes with an option to buy clause, the details are finalized today, and then Manchester United will approve him to go to Spain!”

Rashford joined Aston Villa on loan in the second half of last season, played 17 games, contributed 4 goals and 6 assists. Now his No. 10 jersey at Manchester United has been taken by Cunha. The player’s weekly salary at Manchester United exceeds £325,000, and his contract has three years left.

The England international’s potential switch comes after weeks of speculation about his future at Old Trafford, and the move could provide a fresh start following a mixed 2024/25 campaign.

Barcelona is reportedly optimistic about integrating Rashford into their attacking plans as they continue to rebuild under manager Hansi Flick.
