The Federal Government has announced the release of the 2025 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) results for admission into Junior Secondary School (JSS 1) across the country’s 80 Federal Unity Colleges (FUCs).

Additionally, it has published the results of the separate entrance examination for the Federal Government Academy (FGA) in Suleja.

Speaking at a news conference in Abuja on Wednesday, the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Ahmad, described it as “a moment of fulfillment and advancement for basic education in Nigeria.”

The National Examinations Council (NECO) conducted the 2025 National Common Entrance Examination on June 14, with a total of 64,578 candidates registered. Of these, 61,290 sat for the exam, while 3,288 were absent.

Announcing the results, Ahmad revealed that 13 candidates achieved the highest score of 202 out of a possible 210, while 27 candidates scored the lowest mark of 1.

She also disclosed that 52 candidates were involved in examination malpractice this year—an unprecedented number—with two from Lagos State and 50 from Rivers State.

Regarding the entrance exam for the Federal Government Academy (FGA) in Suleja, she stated that 3,421 candidates registered, 3,141 sat for the exam, and 280 were absent. The top score recorded was 194, while the lowest was one.

Ahmad reaffirmed that the admission policy remains unchanged: 60% based on merit, 30% on state representation, and 10% for exigencies.

She instructed the Senior Secondary Education Department to ensure all admissions are completed promptly and in strict adherence to the established guidelines.

“Our Federal Unity Colleges have become the preferred choice for many parents across the country,” she added.

I want to assure all Nigerian parents that government will continue to do her best to improve on infrastructural development, feeding and teacher quality for effective teaching and learning in our Colleges, “she said.

The event also included the official presentation of the results to the Minister by the NECO Registrar, Prof. Ibrahim Wushishi. (NAN)
