PSC AUTHORIZES PROMOTION OF 4,741 INSPECTORS, 38 DSP SPECIALISTS, AND OTHERS

The Police Service Commission has authorized the promotion of 4,741 Inspectors following the recently concluded nationwide Board Interview for serving Police Inspectors across the country.
Out of this number, 4,708 officers were elevated to the rank of unconfirmed Assistant Superintendents of Police, while 33 were promoted to Senior Inspectors.
Ikechukwu Ani, Head of Press and Public Relations, stated on Wednesday that the Commission also approved the advancement of 38 Specialist Deputy Superintendents of Police to Superintendents, as well as 29 Specialist Superintendents to Chief Superintendents.
These were among the key highlights of the Commission’s Plenary Meeting, which concluded in Abuja on Monday, July 21st, 2025.
During the meeting, the Commission also reviewed and approved the promotion of 12 Commissioners of Police to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General of Police, 16 Deputy Commissioners to substantive Commissioners, and 28 Assistant Commissioners to Deputy Commissioners.
The Commission’s Chairman, DIG Argungu, emphasized the importance of unwavering nationalism, dedication, and exceptional commitment to public service, particularly in daily interactions with the public.
He reminded officers that they are the friend next door and urged them to consistently meet the expectations of Nigerians. He also assured them that the Commission remains committed to advocating for improvements in their conditions of service.
