(BREAKING) NIGERIA 3-2 MOROCCO: SUPER FALCONS STAGE STUNNING COMEBACK TO WIN RECORD 10TH WAFCON TITLE

The Super Falcons of Nigeria pulled off a remarkable comeback to defeat hosts Morocco 3-2 and claim their record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title.
Trailing 2-0 early in the final, the Nigerian team showed grit and determination, clawing their way back into the game with relentless pressure and attacking flair.
Morocco opened the scoring early with Ghizlane Chebbak netting in the 12th minute, followed by a second from Sanaâ Mssoudy in the 24th minute to give the hosts a 2-0 advantage.
But the Super Falcons roared back in the second half with a spirited performance that shifted the momentum.
Esther Okoronkwo began Nigeria’s comeback in the 64th minute with a well-taken penalty, and Folashade Florence Ijamilusi brought the game level just seven minutes later with a 71st-minute strike.
Jennifer Echegini then secured the dramatic victory with a late goal in the 88th minute, completing Nigeria’s stunning turnaround.
Statistically, Nigeria had the upper hand, registering 14 shots to Morocco’s 10, with five on target. The Super Falcons also controlled 55% of the possession, completed 280 passes at a 69% accuracy rate, and won five corners to Morocco’s three.
Despite the intensity of the final, the match remained disciplined with no cards issued. Nigeria committed seven fouls compared to Morocco’s 12.
