GOV MAKINDE DECLARES AUGUST 20 WORK-FREE DAY IN OYO TO CELEBRATE ISESE DAY

Governor Seyi Makinde has declared Wednesday, August 20, 2025, a work-free day across Oyo State in commemoration of this year’s Isese Day celebration.
The declaration was contained in a circular issued on Monday, August 18, 2025, by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Olanike K. Adeyemo, and addressed to top government officials, agencies, and parastatals.

According to the statement, the Governor urged that the day be observed as a period of prayers for the peace, unity, and stability of Oyo State in particular, and Nigeria in general.
“All Ministries, Departments, Agencies, and the general public are kindly enjoined to give His Excellency’s approval the widest publicity it deserves,” the circular stated.
The Isese Day celebration has become an annual tradition in Oyo State, aimed at promoting cultural heritage and communal harmony.
