LAGOS JUDICIARY UNVEILS PROGRAMME FOR 2025/2026 LEGAL YEAR

The Lagos State Judiciary has released the programme of activities to mark the commencement of the 2025/2026 Legal Year, under the leadership of the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Hon. Justice Kareem Olanrewaju Alogba.

According to the announcement, the celebrations will open with simultaneous Thanksgiving Services on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. The services will hold at the Central Mosque, Nnamdi Azikiwe Street, Lagos, and the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina, Lagos.

The Thanksgiving, the Judiciary stated, is aimed at expressing gratitude and seeking divine guidance for the judiciary in the new legal year as it continues to discharge its constitutional responsibilities.

As part of the line-up of events, the 2025/2026 Legal Year Summit will take place on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at The Shell Zenith Bank Hall, MUSON Center, Onikan, Lagos. The summit is expected to provide a platform for judges, lawyers, policymakers, and other stakeholders to engage on emerging issues in the administration of justice.

The Lagos State Judiciary reaffirmed that the annual legal year celebration reflects its commitment to strengthening the rule of law, expanding access to justice, and sustaining Lagos State’s reputation as a model of judicial excellence in Nigeria.

Legal practitioners, invited stakeholders, and members of the public are encouraged to participate in the events.
