FAMILY OF VETERAN ACTRESS PEJU OGUNMOLA DEBUNKS RUMOURED BATHROOM ACCIDENT IN SON’S DEATH

The family of veteran Nollywood actress, Peju Ogunmola, has dismissed reports suggesting that her only child, Ayomikun, died in a bathroom accident in the United Kingdom.
In an official statement issued on Friday by the family’s spokesperson, Yemi Amodu, the family confirmed that Ayomikun passed away after a brief illness in Ibadan, Oyo State, and has since been laid to rest.
“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Sola Ayomikun Omobolanle (son of Sunday and Peju Ogunmola Omobolanle), a jewel, a precious child, and a rising star whose light shone brightly and touched many lives,” the statement read.
The family stressed that contrary to circulating rumours, the young man did not die in a bathroom fall.
“We wish to clearly state that Sola did not pass away as a result of any bathroom accident, contrary to false reports being circulated online. He was briefly unwell and, during this period, received first-class medical care. Despite the best efforts of the medical team, he peacefully answered the call of his creator. He passed away at a hospital in Ibadan, Nigeria, and has since been laid to rest at Eternal Rest Home,” the statement clarified.
The family further urged the public to disregard misleading online claims, noting that such rumours dishonour Ayomikun’s memory and inflict unnecessary pain on his loved ones.
They expressed gratitude for the outpouring of condolences and prayers, adding that no family should have to endure such a devastating and untimely loss.
Peju Ogunmola’s son, Ayomikun, passed on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. Tributes have since poured in from colleagues and fans, with actress Biola Adebayo describing the loss as “devastating and heartbreaking.”
