DELTA POLICE ARREST FOUR KIDNAPPERS, BUST ARMED ROBBERY SYNDICATE, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLES

The Delta State Police Command has arrested four suspected kidnappers and dismantled a notorious armed robbery syndicate, leading to the recovery of firearms, vehicles, and other incriminating items.
Police spokesperson Bright Edafe disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday in Asaba.
According to him, police operatives received a distress call after a young man was kidnapped from his residence in Ogwashi-Uku. The abductors, after collecting a ransom of N2 million, shot the victim in the leg for failing to provide more money.
The Commissioner of Police immediately deployed the Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Squad, led by CSP Godwin Osadolor, who stormed the Ogwashi-Uku bush and rescued the victim despite his injuries.
Through intelligence-led investigations, two suspects Chukwuebuka Nka and Uche Okechukwu were arrested in Anambra State, and the victim’s white Venza SUV was recovered. Their confessions later led operatives to Agidiase village, Ogwashi-Uku, where an 18-year-old suspect, Somto Chukwuma, was also apprehended. A Toyota Matrix vehicle and a network jammer device were among items recovered.
In a separate operation in Ekpan, the police arrested a notorious armed robbery syndicate. Acting on intelligence, the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Labe Joseph, led his team to arrest Elvis Ebroghro (36) and Abiola Adegore (34).
Investigations revealed that on September 11, 2025, the duo attempted to steal a vehicle battery and threatened to kill a community security guard, Abdullahi Mohammed, who confronted them.
Further interrogation of Elvis Ebroghro led to the arrest of another key suspect, Lucky Ebroghro. During a follow-up operation, police recovered an AK-47 rifle hidden in an isolated building in Ometan Community and linked to the gang.
The Delta State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to tackling violent crime and urged residents to remain vigilant and provide useful information to aid security efforts.
