TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN KANO FOR ATTACKING RAPPER LIL KESH

The Kano State Police Command has verified the apprehension of two primary suspects associated with the violent attack on Nigerian musician, Keshinro Ololade, widely recognized as Lil Kesh.

The suspects, identified as Mathew Adewole (25) and Mukhtar Muhammad (31), were located and detained at Na’ibawa Quarters, Kano, on September 11, 2025, following several weeks of intelligence-driven operations.

According to the Command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna, Adewole confessed to invading Lil Kesh’s residence in Lagos at Bera Estate, Chevron on August 19, 2025, where the artist sustained a severe neck injury in what law enforcement characterized as an attempted homicide.

Investigations disclosed that during the assault, Adewole compelled Lil Kesh to transfer ₦2.12 million from his bank account into Muhammad’s account before fleeing the location.

“The Kano State Police Command has made a substantial advancement in a recent incident of armed robbery and attempted murder, attributed to its effective intelligence and community engagement,” he stated.

He further noted that the arrest was in accordance with the directive from the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, aimed at enhancing intelligence operations and curtailing violent crime.

The suspects have since been transferred to the Lagos State Police Command for further inquiries and legal proceedings.

Meanwhile, the Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commended the operatives for their prompt action and expressed gratitude to the public for their support.
