DABIRI-EREWA APPLAUDS PROF. IDAYAT OWOLABI’S HISTORIC HONOUR BY KING CHARLES III

Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), has congratulated Prof. Idayat Bolanle Owolabi, a Nigerian-born academic and University of Ibadan alumna, on her historic recognition by His Majesty King Charles III.
Prof. Owolabi was recently conferred with the Commander of the British Empire (CBE) title in the King’s Birthday Honours 2025, announced on October 10, 2025, for her outstanding contributions to the health sector.
In a statement released on Thursday, Dabiri-Erewa commended the awardee for her professional excellence and exemplary representation of Nigeria on the global stage.
“Her success powerfully underscores the immense talent in our diaspora community. We are proud of her and anticipate even greater achievements ahead,” Dabiri-Erewa said.
She described Prof. Owolabi’s achievement as a source of pride for Nigerians worldwide, reaffirming NiDCOM’s commitment to celebrating and supporting citizens who distinguish themselves abroad.
The NiDCOM boss further stressed the importance of recognising such accomplishments to reshape global perceptions of Nigeria and showcase the positive impact of Nigerians in various professional fields.
