ISLAMIC SCHOLAR SHEIKH DAHIRU USMAN BAUCHI IS DEAD

Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, a wellknown Islamic scholar, has passed away.

The news about his death began spreading early on Thursday morning.

Bashir Ahmad, who was once a close advisor to the late President Muhammadu Buhari, shared the news on X.

He wrote, “We are very sad and accept the will of Allah (SAW) with full respect.
We have learned of the passing of our respected leader, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, who was a key leader in the Tijjaniyya order in Nigeria.

He also prayed for the deceased.

His brief post concluded, “May Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his noble deeds and grant him Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen.”

He mentioned that the respected scholar was meeting with visitors on Wednesday night before he was taken to the hospital, where he eventually passed away.

Mohammed stated that the funeral prayer would take place on Friday, November 28, in Bauchi, following Islamic traditions.

Usman-Bauchi, who was honored with the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR), was seen as one of Nigeria’s most important Islamic scholars.
He was known for his deep knowledge, spiritual leadership, and his lifelong work in spreading Islam.

He was born in 1927 in Gombe and spent his life working to improve Islamic education, encourage peaceful living together, and bring people in Nigeria closer.

He is survived by 61 children as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
