Lagos State Education District II has held a one-day Christmas Carol and Nine Lessons Service to mark the festive season and promote unity, reflection and gratitude among staff and stakeholders.

Welcoming participants at the event, the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary (TGPS), Mr. Omotayo Layemo Sanni, said the programme was organised to reflect on the gift of life bestowed on humanity through the birth of Jesus Christ, the Saviour of mankind. He expressed appreciation to God for His faithfulness and guidance throughout the year.

Mr. Sanni urged members of staff to use the occasion to strengthen bonds of friendship, foster unity, and renew their commitment to service to humanity, especially within the education sector.

Delivering the sermon, the Principal of Immaculate Heart Comprehensive Senior High School, Mr. Bodunrin James, described the birth of Christ as a source of hope and salvation for the world. He noted that Jesus Christ represents a divine blessing to all mankind and called on attendees to reflect His love, humility and selflessness in their daily lives.

Directors within the District and Chairmen of the All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) took turns to read the first eight lessons, while the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary read the ninth lesson to the congregation.

Also in attendance were the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Chairman, Ikorodu, Comrade Temitope Daodu, alongside representatives of other zonal chairmen.
