A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Emeka Bekee, has confirmed that Governor Siminalayi Fubara is expected to run for a second term under the party in 2027.

Bekee made the disclosure on Wednesday during an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show, amid ongoing political tension between FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Fubara.

The APC leader also suggested that governors who recently defected to the party may receive automatic tickets for re-election. He said, “APC has different methods of conducting elections, including consensus and voice votes. Fubara will participate in the nomination process to run in 2027. If he emerges victorious, he will be the party’s candidate.

“We believe Rivers State must move forward. If agreements at the national level grant second terms to governors, Fubara will benefit, and nobody can deny him that,” Bekee added.
