Tottenham’s turbulent season took another unexpected turn after French forward Randal Kolo Muani was involved in a car crash ahead of Wednesday night’s Champions League clash in Germany.
Kolo Muani lost control of his Ferrari following a tyre blowout while en route to Stansted Airport for the team’s flight to Frankfurt.
Fortunately, the forward was uninjured. Team-mate Wilson Odobert stopped to check on him, and both players later travelled with the squad and are expected to be available for the match.
Spurs manager Thomas Frank commented:
“That is my absolute understanding of everything. I haven’t spoken to them personally yet. They are fine. Everyone else involved in that accident was fine. It was a tyre blowing up… They will fly out later and I fully expect both to be available.”
The Danish coach’s troubles deepen as Pedro Porro is sidelined for a month with a hamstring injury, while Micky van de Ven also misses the trip. Despite the setbacks, Spurs can still secure a last-16 spot with a victory over a managerless Frankfurt side.
