VIDEO: TINUBU DEPARTS ABUJA FOR KEBBI TO ATTEND 61ST ARGUNGU FESTIVAL, COMMISSION PROJECTS

President Bola Tinubu on Saturday departed Abuja for Kebbi State for a one-day official visit to “commission key projects and attend a major cultural event.”
The presidential jet took off from the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at about 11:55 a.m.
“Few minutes ago, President Tinubu departed Abuja for Kebbi State, where he will, among other things, attend the 61st edition of the 2026 Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival as the special guest of honour,” a State House statement partly read.
According to a press release by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the visit includes the commissioning of projects executed by Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris.
President Tinubu is also expected to serve as the Special Guest of Honour at the 61st edition of the 2026 Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival.
The festival, recognised as one of Africa’s most vibrant cultural celebrations, is staged along the historic Matan Fada, a site acknowledged by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The annual event attracts local and international visitors, showcasing traditional fishing competitions, music, dance, and rich cultural displays.
