Punuka Attorneys & Solicitors, representing Sophia Momodu in her ongoing custody battle with Davido over their daughter Imade, has condemned the online harassment targeted at one of its partners.

The dispute arose after a recent court hearing.

During the proceedings, Afrobeats star Davido described an incident involving Ebelechukwu Egeonu Enedah, the legal representative of Sophia Momodu.

Following the hearing, Davido announced his withdrawal from the custody case, clarifying that he was not seeking sole custody of their daughter Imade, but aimed to establish a structured co-parenting arrangement.

The singer also spoke out about the public discourse surrounding the case, admitting that the proceedings had been emotionally taxing. He claimed that the opposing counsel, in his words, “brought out her last card — my deceased son. That’s a no no! Lowest blow!”

In a separate social media post, in which he accidentally tagged singer Tosin Bee, Davido revealed the lawyer’s name and social media handle, drawing widespread attention to her online.

In reaction, Punuka Attorneys & Solicitors issued a stern statement, emphasizing that such matters should remain confined to the courtroom and not be played out on social media.

Punuka Attorneys & Solicitors has accused Davido of engaging in “threat, intimidation, or exposure to harassment” beyond the courtroom.

IRAN CAN SINK US WARSHIP- SUPREME LEADER WARNS

The firm called on the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) to take note, warning that it will not tolerate any “aberration and gross violation” of legal professional standards.

It added that it will resist any attempts to intimidate legal counsel or undermine judicial proceedings.

“Our attention has been drawn to inflammatory public statements, primarily by a Nigerian Afrobeat artiste, made via social media and directed at our Partner, Mrs. Ebelechukwu Egeonu Enedah, arising from her professional conduct in a custody matter currently before a competent court in Lagos State,” the statement read.

Punuka Attorneys & Solicitors stressed that the custody matter remains sub judice and will be determined solely by the court based on evidence and the law, saying that no media commentary can influence the judicial process or their handling of the case. The firm affirmed that it will not issue any statements on the substance of the case in line with professional standards.

They warned that any attempt to threaten, intimidate, or harass legal practitioners outside the courtroom for performing their duties—such as questioning evidence or advocating for clients—undermines the very foundation of justice, which relies on fearless advocacy.

The firm called on the Nigerian Bar Association and the global legal community to unite in condemning what it described as a serious breach and violation of professional ethics.
