The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has fixed February 26, 2026, as the closing date for registration for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The announcement was made on Wednesday in a statement by JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.
He explained that the sale of e-PINs required for candidates to complete their registration at designated centres will end at midnight on Thursday, February 26, 2026. Meanwhile, physical registration at accredited centres for candidates who have already obtained their e-PINs will conclude on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
He revealed that more than 1.5 million candidates had registered for the 2026 UTME as of Tuesday.
“This shows that a considerable number of prospective candidates have yet to take advantage of the registration window.
“Candidates are strongly urged to obtain their e-PINs before the sales deadline and promptly visit accredited centres to complete their registration. Delaying until the final days could lead to avoidable difficulties, and the Board will not consider any requests for an extension once the deadline has passed,” the statement said.
