The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency has urged Ogun State authorities to initiate a preliminary investigation into allegations involving singer Simi, calling on any victims to come forward and support the process.

Speaking with the media, Lola Vivour-Adeniyi, Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, stressed the need to act on the reports.

“As for the Simi case, we cannot act as if we have not seen these things. We have a duty to at least commence a preliminary investigation,” she said.

She highlighted the challenge of pursuing legal action without testimony from survivors.

“The truth of the matter is that it’s going to be very difficult to prosecute without a survivor coming forward,” she added.

Vivour-Adeniyi encouraged anyone affected to step forward.

“A victim of any form of sexual abuse, assault, aggression, or defamation should come forward. This allows us to start the process, document the case, and record their statement. Only then can we determine the next steps in the matter,” she said.
