NDLEA Kano Command Arrests 19, Seizes Multiple Drugs in Gezawa Raids

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano Strategic Command, has apprehended 19 suspects and confiscated a variety of illegal substances during operations in Gezawa, Gezawa Local Government Area.

Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics and Public Relations Officer, Sadiq Maigatari, announced the development on Thursday, explaining that the operation was part of the command’s ongoing “Operation Ramadan Mubarak” aimed at safeguarding public health during the holy month.

“In a decisive action targeting public safety and the sanctity of Ramadan, NDLEA operatives dismantled several drug points in Gezawa, seized multiple illicit substances, and arrested 19 individuals,” Maigatari said.

The operation, conducted under the supervision of CN DY Lawal, was prompted by credible intelligence from a concerned community member. Recovered items include cannabis sativa, diazepam, Exol-5, the street drug ‘Suck and Die,’ rubber solution, pregabalin tablets, and other controlled substances. All exhibits are now secured as investigations continue.
