Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has publicly criticized Arise Television anchor Rufai Oseni in a video that has gone viral on social media.

In the clip, Edochie questioned Oseni’s credibility to challenge political leaders and guests on national television, citing a previous incident in Lagos where the broadcaster was reportedly caught driving in a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lane.

“Is this not the same Rufai Oseni who was caught driving in the BRT lane?” Edochie asked.

“When officials caught you, instead of apologising, you were shouting, ‘Do you know who I am? I’m going to call the governor of Lagos State.’”

He alleged that Oseni only apologised after a video of the incident surfaced online.

“If not because somebody had a video, you could not even apologise. If there was no video, what would have happened?” he said.

The actor also accused the Arise TV presenter of showing disrespect to guests during interviews.

“How can you invite someone and make them feel uncomfortable?” Edochie asked.

“If a guest feels uneasy, the first step is to apologise and help them feel at ease. How can you tell a guest that if they’re uncomfortable, they are free to leave the studio?”

Edochie further criticized what he described as Oseni’s confrontational style on television.

“You are insulting people on national TV. That is highly disrespectful, and it is not what journalism should be,” he stated.

Defending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Edochie urged critics to accord the President respect and give his administration more time.

“Jagaban President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the President of Nigeria, whether you like it or not. He is our President, you must respect him,” he stated. “The man just came in. Give him time. Rome was not built in a day.”
