INEC RECOGNISES WIKE-BACKED PDP LEADERSHIP AFTER CONVENTION
By Aishat Momoh. O.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially recognised the faction of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) backed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The development was reflected on the Commission’s official website on Monday, where it published the updated national leadership of the opposition party.
Among those listed are Abdulrahman Mohammed as National Chairman and Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary, alongside other members of the party’s National Working Committee.
Both leaders emerged during the PDP National Convention held on Sunday night at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium velodrome in Abuja.

INEC’s recognition of the Wike-backed leadership is expected to have significant implications for the ongoing internal dynamics within the PDP, as the party continues efforts to resolve its leadership crisis.
