Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has approved the immediate dissolution of the State Executive Council.
The directive was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Bukar Tijani.
According to the statement, all commissioners have been instructed to hand over the affairs of their respective ministries to permanent secretaries on or before April 3, 2026.
The move, the government said, is aimed at creating an enabling environment for council members who may wish to contest elective positions in the forthcoming general elections.
“The decision is to provide an enabling environment for any member of the council who may wish to contest elective positions in the forthcoming general elections,” the statement noted.
Governor Zulum also expressed appreciation to the outgoing commissioners for their service, commending their dedication and contributions to the development of Borno State.
