The University of Jos (UNIJOS) has announced that the first-semester examinations will commence on Monday, April 13, 2026, following the earlier postponement of some papers due to heightened security concerns in the state.

This decision came after a management meeting on Friday, April 3, 2026, which assessed recent threats to student safety that had led to an extension of the Easter holiday.

In a statement, Deputy Registrar for Information and Public Relations, Emmanuel Madugu, said all postponed exams from March 30 will now take place starting April 13. “Students are advised to contact their Faculty Examinations Time Table Officer for further guidance,” the statement added.

Management assured students remaining on campus that security measures have been significantly strengthened and urged everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the University Security Division immediately.

The statement also noted that normal university operations are expected to resume from Tuesday, April 7, 2026, and highlighted that the university is working closely with relevant security agencies to maintain peace on campus.
