STABBING INCIDENT CLAIMS LIFE OF UNIVERSITY STUDENT IN KONTAGORA

A Niger State resident, 18-year-old Jafar Musa, has killed 25-year-old student Seyi Simon of the Federal University of Education (FUE), Kontagora.

The incident occurred on Easter Sunday during a party organized for newly admitted students at the school hall in Kontagora LGA.

Reports indicate that a disagreement arose between Musa, from Angwan-Gwari in Kontagora, and Simon. During the altercation, Musa allegedly stabbed Simon with a dagger. Simon was rushed to the General Hospital in Kontagora, where he was pronounced dead.

Musa was promptly arrested and is being held for further investigation.

Confirming the incident, Niger State Police spokesperson Wasiu Abiodun stated:

“On 5/4/2026 at about 1:40 a.m., it was reported at A Div Kontagora that during a party for newly admitted students at FUE Kontagora, a misunderstanding occurred between Jafar Musa, 18, of Angwan-Gwari, and Seyi Simon, 25, a student of the school.

“In the course of the fight, Musa stabbed Simon with a dagger. The victim was taken to the General Hospital in Kontagora, where he was confirmed dead. The suspect has been arrested for further investigation.”
