PRESIDENT TINUBU MISSED LAGOS PROJECT INAUGURATION DUE TO SECURITY BRIEFINGS, SAYS ADVISER

The Special Adviser to the President on Public Communications and Orientation, Sunday Dare, has explained that President Bola Tinubu was unable to attend a scheduled project inauguration in Lagos because of ongoing security briefings.
Speaking in an interview with Channels Television on Wednesday, Dare said the President prioritized national security developments over the event. “Yes, the president is in Lagos, and I’m sure beyond the pictures, you know that the president has been busy with state matters,” he stated.
Dare cited recent security concerns across the country, including attacks in Jos, Kaduna, and Niger, which required the President’s immediate attention. “The president has been busy taking constant briefs and has to prioritize when it comes to state matters, especially security,” he added, noting that Tinubu has been actively monitoring developments, consulting with intelligence agencies, and engaging with security officials to make timely decisions.
President Tinubu was represented at the inauguration of the Opebi-Ojota Link Bridge by Godswill Akpabio, who commissioned the project on his behalf. The event was part of a series of projects slated for commissioning during the President’s visit to Lagos.
Dare emphasized that the President’s absence underscores the urgency of responding to national security threats while balancing his official engagements.
