‘TRAGIC MISTAKES’: TRUMP REACTS TO KING CHARLES’ US VISIT AMID UK–US TENSIONS

Donald Trump has said Keir Starmer has made several “tragic mistakes,” as he addressed the strained relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom.
Trump made the remarks while discussing tensions between both countries, insisting that the situation would not affect the planned visit of King Charles III to the US.
He acknowledged that the longstanding “special relationship” between the US and the UK is currently under strain, but maintained that this would not overshadow the monarch’s upcoming state visit.
In an interview with Sky News, Trump renewed his criticism of Starmer’s policies, particularly on energy and immigration. He also expressed frustration that the UK and other NATO allies did not back US military actions against Iran when, according to him, their support was needed.
Despite the diplomatic tensions, Buckingham Palace has confirmed that King Charles will proceed with a four-day visit to the United States later this month.
Reacting to the announcement, Trump described the monarch as “a great gentleman.”
“I have known him for a long time. He is a wonderful, wonderful person,” he said, adding that his disagreements with Starmer would “not at all” affect the royal visit.
Speaking further on the UK Prime Minister, Trump argued that Starmer made “a tragic mistake” by shutting down North Sea oil operations and also erred in his handling of immigration policies.
