POLICE ARREST 43-YEAR-OLD MAN WITH HUMAN HEAD, BODY PARTS IN OGUN

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 43-year-old man, Idowu Ashafa, over the alleged possession of a fresh human head and two human palms found concealed in a nylon bag in Igbesa, Ogun State.

The suspect was apprehended by operatives of the Igbesa Division under the supervision of Area Commander ACP Folashade Tanaruno during a routine patrol in the early hours of April 17, 2026.

The command’s spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday.

According to Babaseyi, the suspect was intercepted during a patrol led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Solotan K. Owolabi.

He explained that preliminary findings suggested the suspect allegedly exhumed the remains from a grave at Ido Itekun Village, Igbesa, for ritual purposes.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly exhumed the remains from a grave at Ido Itekun Village, Igbesa, for ritual purposes,” the statement said, adding that the implement used in the act was recovered.

The statement further noted that the scene had been visited and properly documented, while the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.

The command reiterated its commitment to combating crime across the state and urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies.
