Controversial Nigerian street-pop singer Portable has been involved in a single-car accident just a night before the naming ceremony of his newborn baby.
The incident reportedly occurred on Thursday night in Ogun State after the singer experienced brake failure while driving in preparation for the upcoming event.
According to Portable, he narrowly escaped death by steering his vehicle into a ditch to avoid a collision with another car.

In a video shared on his Instagram story, the singer expressed gratitude for surviving the crash unhurt.
“My fans, join me to thank God. I was driving out this evening when the accident happened. Nothing happened to me, I came out unhurt,” he said.
He explained that the car suddenly developed brake failure, adding that he was thankful the incident did not occur while a trailer was nearby on the road.
Portable also revealed that preparations for his son’s naming ceremony were already underway, including the purchase of two cows for the celebration.
The singer’s partner, Bewaji, recently gave birth during his boxing match with Carter Efe on Friday, May 1, 2026, with festivities planned to mark the newborn’s naming ceremony.
