‘MONEY IS NOT ALWAYS THE SOLUTION TO DEPRESSION’ — TIMINI EGBUSON

Popular Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson has shared his views on the connection between money, depression and happiness.
The actor stated that contrary to the widespread belief that wealth automatically cures depression, money does not always guarantee happiness.
Egbuson stressed that financially successful individuals can also struggle with depression.
He made the remarks while reacting to a viral post on X which suggested that people battling depression only needed financial support to overcome it.
“You’re not depressed, you need 20 million naira,” an X user wrote in the now-viral post.
Reacting, Egbuson said, “It’s not always about money sha.”
His reaction sparked a deeper reflection on other causes of depression aside from lack and poverty, with many agreeing that money can’t cure depression stemming from the loss of a loved one, anxiety, and other natural incidents.
However, some argued that the major cause of depression is a lack of money, claiming that a lot of people would be free from it if they had money to solve their financial problems.
