The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has promised to address Nigeria’s security challenges and restore fuel subsidy if elected president in the 2027 general elections.

Atiku made the pledge on Thursday during the party’s campaign rally in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State.

He described the 2027 general election as a referendum on President Bola Tinubu’s administration, urging Nigerians to decide whether to continue with the current government or embrace an alternative leadership.

Speaking at the rally, the Director-General of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Austin Akobundu, identified hunger, insecurity and unemployment as major issues the party would prioritise throughout its campaign.

The ADC National Chairman also called on residents of Kebbi State to support Atiku’s presidential ambition, Abubakar Malami’s governorship bid and other party candidates in the 2027 elections.

Atiku and his running mate also faulted some projects being presented as achievements of the Tinubu administration, alleging that certain projects were inherited from the administration of the late President Muhammadu Buhari.

The rally concluded with the ADC National Chairman formally presenting the party’s flag to Malami as its governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
