BREAKING: AKPABIO WINS SENATE PRESIDENCY
Senator Godswill Akpabio has emerged President of the 10th Senate in a voting conducted in the hallowed chambers of the National Assembly on Tuesday morning.
Akpabio of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) scored total of 63 votes while Abdulazeez Yari also of the APC scored 46 votes.
The Clerk of the Senate made the official announcement at 9.35am declaring Senator Akpabio, a past Governor of Akwa-Ibom as winner of the election conducted amongst the 109 senators representing their various constituencies.
At exactly, 9.40am, Akpabio took the oath of office administered on him by the Clerk of the Senate.
