The United States Department of State is set to issue limited-edition passports this summer to commemorate America’s 250th independence anniversary.

According to Fox News Digital, the special passport booklets will feature President Donald Trump’s image on the inside cover, alongside symbolic American historical imagery.

Mock-up designs reportedly show Trump’s image framed by the text of the Declaration of Independence and the American flag, with his signature presented in gold. Another page is said to display the historic painting of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott confirmed the development, describing it as part of celebrations marking the nation’s milestone anniversary.

“As the United States celebrates America’s 250th anniversary in July, the State Department is preparing to release a limited number of specially designed U.S. passports to commemorate this historic occasion,” Pigott told Fox News Digital.

He added that the passports would include “customised artwork and enhanced imagery” while maintaining existing high-level security features.

Pigott also announced the initiative on social media platform X, noting that the special documents are being developed for the July celebrations.

Reports indicate that the passport design will include an enlarged “United States of America” inscription above the national crest, while the back cover will feature a U.S. flag with “250” placed among 13 stars representing the original colonies.

A State Department official told Fox News Digital that the passports will be available to any American citizen who applies during the rollout period, though supplies will be limited and issued through the Washington Passport Agency.

The release is expected to coincide with a broader “America250” programme, which includes national celebrations such as a Grand Prix event on the National Mall, a UFC fight at the White House South Lawn, and a large-scale “Great American State Fair” featuring exhibitions, entertainment, and cultural displays.

Officials also confirmed plans for fireworks at Mount Rushmore as part of the anniversary festivities.
