KANU NWANKWO AND WIFE CELEBRATES 20TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

These two inspire you to believe in love.
Kanu Nwankwo, a world-class Nigerian footballer, and his wife, Amarachi Kanu, have celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary.
The pair celebrated their anniversary on Instagram with a cute, lovey-dovey post captioned, “Happy Anniversary, Mr and Mrs Kanu.”
The video depicts their low-key, peaceful party in a high-rise building. Kanu coos over his lovely wife as he offers her a bottle of wine to sip while she sits at the window, taking in the sunset and the lovely vista.
“My lovely wife, I love you, the mother of my children,” he adds before kissing her on the lips.
In 2004, Amarachi Nwankwo, a fitness enthusiast, married Kanu when he was only 18 years old. While she had the complete support of her parents and immediate family, many Nigerians criticized her decision to marry at such a young age at the time. The two were also chastised for their 10-year age difference.
In a 2016 interview with Punch, she discussed why she married so young and the backlash she received as a result. She remarked that getting married at such a young age was not frightening for her because she was in love.
“I wasn’t scared; I felt like it was the best thing that could have happened to me,” she says. I was in love, so there was no time for a negative feeling like fear to come up. I think the love I had and still have for my husband was all I needed to feel comfortable and good.”
Despite the odds set against them the two have continued to wax stronger over the years and currently have three children, proving that love does conquer all.
