JUST IN: STATE GOVERNORS PROPOSE NEW MINIMUM WAGE, OTHERS AS PALLIATIVES

Rising from an emergency session of the National Economic Council (NEC) at the State House, Abuja on Thursday; the 36 state governors have proposed that a new minimum wage should be negotiated with Nigerian workers.
The meeting chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima made the following resolutions:
- Negotiate New Minimum Wage for Nigerian Workers
- Respective State to Implement the Cash Transfer Programme
- Cash Awards to Civil Servants for a Period of Six Months
- All Outstanding Liabilities by States Governments to Civil Servants should be Paid Immediately
- Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMEs) to be Supported with Single Digit Interest Loans
- An Immediate Implementation of the Energy Transition Plan
