ONDO POLICE CONFIRM SUSPECTED SUICIDE OF 20-YEAR-OLD POLYTECHNIC STUDENT

The Police Command in Ondo State has confirmed the death of a 20-year-old student of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, who was found hanging in his residence in Emure-Ile.
The deceased, identified as Audi Emmanuel, a Computer Engineering student, was discovered dead along Awolowo Road, Emure Ile-Owo, beside the Amotekun office.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the incident in a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Akure.
Jimoh said police operatives who visited the scene recovered the body and deposited it at a morgue for preservation and autopsy.
“Preliminary observations suggest a case of suicide; however, a thorough investigation is ongoing to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding the incident,” he said.
He added that the command commiserates with the family of the deceased and urged members of the public to seek help and speak up during moments of emotional distress, noting that support is available.
