TINUBU MOURNS SAUDI PRINCE WHO DIED IN JET CRASH
By Aishat Momoh. O.
On Saturday, President Bola Tinubu sent his condolences to King Salman of Saudi Arabia, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and the Saudi Royal House at the loss of Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz bin Bandar Al Saud, who passed away in a jet crash on Thursday.
The F-15SA fighter jet of the Saudi Arabian Air Force crashed near Dhahran on December 7, and the Saudi Royal Court declared that Prince Talal Bin Abdulaziz had perished.
It did not, however, reveal the wounds that ultimately caused the prince’s demise.
Talal, 62, and another pilot perished while on a training mission.
According to the monarchy, Talal’s final rites will be performed at the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh.
Ajuri Ngelale, his Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, signed a statement.
In addition to expressing his sorrow over the passing, Tinubu noted the late Prince’s exceptional and committed service to his nation during his remarkable tenure in the Saudi Intelligence Agency and the Royal Saudi Air Force.
In a statement headlined “President Tinubu mourns Saudi Prince Talal Bin Abdulaziz Bin Bandar Al Saud,” the President asked God Almighty to give the deceased’s soul peace and consolation, as well as comfort, to the Saudi Royal Family, the Kingdom, and everyone else affected by this irreversible loss.
Beginning with the 2017 helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Prince Mansour bin Muqrin and seven other Saudi Royals close to the Yemeni border, Prince Talal now joins a distinguished group of Saudi Royals who have either been involved in or lost their lives in aircraft catastrophes.
