NYSC URGE CORPS MEMBERS TO SHUN NIGHT JOURNEY
Members of the National Youth Service Corps are advised not to go at night by Mr. Kehinde Aremu-Cole, Director of the North West Area Office.
He made the call on Friday while visiting the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp at Yikpata, which is located in Kwara State’s Edu Local Government Area.
While addressing the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream 2 corps members undergoing orientation course in the camp, the director said “Losing one child to the cold hand of an automobile accident while on national service due to an unnecessary night journey is the most disheartening experience parents could ever imagine.”
Thus, he commanded them to withstand any kind of pressure or temptation that would lead them to set out on a nighttime expedition.
The NYSC commander also urged the corps members to accept their posting in good faith, stating that the goal of their service to their country is to make the greatest possible effect on their diverse host communities.
As a result, he counselled them to concentrate on the progress they needed to achieve using the Community Development Service, or CDS, tool.
Aremu-Cole encouraged the corps members to approach him for any help they needed in pursuing the goals of the country since he was passionate about community development, youth empowerment, and human capital development.
Before, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa, the state coordinator for NYSC Kwara, emphasised how important it is for corps members to follow the director’s orders to the letter.
Onifade continued by saying that the director has assisted numerous young people and close friends in reaching their objectives.
