Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to welcome Lucas Beraldo to the club. The 20-year-old Brazilian defender has agreed to a five-year contract and will wear the number 35.
Subsequent to playing for São Paulo based teams, União Barbarense and XV de Piracicaba, Beraldo joined São Paulo FC in 2020 and quickly established himself as a key member of the club’s U17 team.
The native of Piracicaba advanced through the ranks there and, on May 26, 2022, he made his professional debut in the Copa Sudamericana against Peruvian team Ayacucho FC, winning 1-0. A few weeks later, on June 11, 2022, the then 18-year-old triumphed 4-1 over Ecuador to mark his debut cap for Brazil’s U20 team.
Beraldo, who is a left-footer really set new records in 2023 because of his above-average passing skills and technical finesse. After being inserted into the starting lineups of the São Paulo FC first team on a regular basis, Beraldo emerged as a major force in the Brazilian top division, making 52 appearances and scoring one goal in Série A at the young age of 20. After defeating Flamengo in the final, São Paulo won its first-ever Copa do Brasil title in September 2023, marking the start of a blossoming career.
“I’m really happy to be joining a club as ambitious as Paris Saint-Germain. This is an important step in my career and one that will help me to move forward. I can’t wait to get to know my new teammates and to take my first steps in this shirt,” Beraldo said.
