INSECURITY: FCT, BENUE, EKITI, OTHERS GET NEW POLICE COMMISSIONERS
The appointment and posting of new Commissioners of Police (CPs) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Ekiti, Benue, and two other states have been authorized by the Police Service Commission (PSC) amid an increase in nationwide insecurity.
This was revealed in a statement released on Wednesday by Ikechukwu Ani, the Commission’s Head of Press and Public Relations.
The statement names CP Beneth Igwe as the FCT’s new commissioner of police.
He was previously the FCT Command’s DCP Operations.
Akinwale Kunle Adeniran of Ekiti State, Mohammed Umar Abba of Adamawa State, Olughemiga Emmanuel Adesina of Benue State, and Peter Ukachi Opara of Osun State are the other recently appointed CPs.
The others are Hassan Abdu Yabnet in Plateau State, Abayomi Oladipo Peter in Ondo State, David Iloyanomon in Taraba State, Ademola Waheed Ayilara in Akwa Ibom State, and Abaniwonda Surajudeen Olufemi in Delta State.
The incoming CPs were forewarned by PSC Chairman Dr. Solomon Arase that the Commission will not accept any justification for inadequate or ineffective leadership.
