AVIATION MINISTER CONDEMNS BEGGING, EXTORTION AT AIRPORTS AS FAAN INTENSIFIES ACTION

On Sunday, the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo decried reports of begging and extortion going on at International airports in the country by some unscrupulous individuals.
The Minister in a post on his official X handle, condemned the activities of staff begging and extorting travellers, saying it has been bringing a bad image to the nation.
He stated that his cell phone beeps every minute with messages from concerned citizens who continue to complain about the matter.
The Minister clarified that “most of the agencies involved in this menace are not under the control of the Aviation Ministry, though they are stationed at our airports.
“However, I have been working closely with other Ministers, arms of government and agencies who are responsible for these agencies and a solution is in sight soon”.
