UPDATE: KING CHARLES SISTER ANNE RETURNS TO PUBLIC DUTIES
Agency Report
The sister of British President Charles III, Princess Anne, resumed her public duties on Friday, several weeks after receiving medical attention in a hospital following an accident with a horse.
In what is reportedly a phased comeback to public appearances, Anne, 73, met and gave trophies to winners at a charity horseback riding event in Gloucestershire, southwest England.
Known as the Princess Royal, she was hospitalized in Bristol for five nights in late June after suffering a concussion and minor brain injuries at her Gloucestershire estate, Gatcombe Park.
Since then, she has been recuperating in her house on the expansive estate and adhering to accepted concussion procedures.
It’s thought that she was hit by a horse while strolling around the enclosed area of the property, which is used for horseback riding.
At the time, the princess’s injuries were deemed compatible with a possible collision with a horse’s head or legs, according to her medical staff.
Her mother, British rider Zara Tindall, won silver for the British team in the eventing competition at the 2012 London Olympics. She is a talented horsewoman who competed at the 1976 Montreal Olympics.
While Charles was undergoing treatment for cancer, Anne stood in for him in public appearances, and last month, she participated in his formal birthday parade.
