POLICE ARREST FOREIGN NATIONALS SUSPECTED OF SPONSORING PROTEST WITH RUSSIAN FLAG
Foreign nationals suspected of sponsoring protests with the Russian flag in several regions of the nation have been arrested, according to the Nigerian Police.
Following a security meeting with Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf on Tuesday, Police Commissioner Salman Garba made this disclosure.
According to him, the police and other security agencies will clamp down on anyone trying to temper the security of the state.
He also announced further relaxation of the curfew from 6 am to 6 pm.
The #Endbadgovernance nationwide protests against hardship and hunger took a twist on Monday, with protesters in some northern states holding up the Russian flag as they chanted “Tinubu must go.”
Reactions have since poured in, with human rights activists and Senior Advocates of Nigeria, like Femi Falana, and Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Christopher Mustapha, describing the act as a treasonable offence.
