UPDATE: PLATEAU GOVT RELAXES CURFEW ON JOS JOS-BUKURU METROPOLIS

The Plateau State Government has further lifted the curfew imposed on the Jos-Bukuru metropolis, allowing citizens to roam freely for lawful purposes from noon to 6 p.m. daily, till further notice.

According to a statement issued by the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, the relaxation goes into effect on Thursday after Governor Caleb Mutfwang examined the security situation in the impacted districts.

Governor Mutfwang praised the public for their peaceful conduct throughout the curfew and urged continuing collaboration with security forces to ensure the state’s safety and security.

This comes as reports of violence and looting emerged in some northern regions during the countrywide hunger and hardship rallies.
